Mind The Gap
Our conditioning for overthinking has most of humanity addicted to their thoughts. The moment overwhelmed kicks in, so does addiction for escapism. For many, being in silence makes many squirm, unable to bear their own company, let alone the silence of their mind. The void terrifies them, it must be filled at all costs.
We have been taught that we are being responsible when we continue to strive to solve the problems of our life through our minds and thoughts. To maintain that tight grip of control, we think about what we must do.
Rarely are we shown how much intuition, wisdom, opportunities and possibility arise when we simply choose to step out of the busyness of our lives.
Our minds are not designed to make decisions.
This is another false illusion borne out of fear and control. Humanity is evolving to adopt the coherence between heart and gut that are not shackled by the constraints of your belief system. Do you know how to listen to your own body that holds the wisdom and knowledge of what you truly desire to experience?
Most are so obsessed with filling their minds continuously, there is no space to check in and feel what is real. Instead, we feed the requirement to be occupied with our addictions.
People do anything to avoid the discomfort of silence.
They have no idea how just to BE. Sure, there is a growing movement towards meditation and mindfulness, yet most still pick up the phone, switch on an app and be guided by someone else to experience some stillness of the mind. Not able to even be alone with themselves in these moments.
When was the last time you walked or sat in nature without listening to something?
What about the last time you took a swim without thinking of the past or worrying about the future?
The more space we consciously create in our lives, the more opportunities for the invention of our own involvement arise. Where the best ideas spring up from nowhere when you’re least expecting it. How many aha moments have you had in the shower, when you simply allowed the water to wash over you, cleansing you, standing naked in your vulnerability, alone.
Mind the gap.
Actively seek out the spaces between your thoughts. Surrender to the void of silence, take the pregnant pauses.
Do not pick up the phone. Do not open the fridge. Do not switch on the TV.
Stop the addictions, invite in freedom of mind, and start making friends with the uncomfortable nature of nothingness. It is only from this space of consciousness itself that you can truly evolve. Where your innate knowing develops, far more powerful than the thoughts which your mind conjures up.
Generations are living vicariously through their addictions. Drugs, food, screens, gambling, p0rn, all external stimulants keep them from facing themselves. Only with a willingness to venture within, through the silence, can we really see what is going on. Own your current state of affairs.
For this is where your potentiality lies, where the inspiration for creating a new frequency of existence can spiral up from the inner recesses of your remembrance.
Just for today, mind the gap. Create more spaciousness between thoughts and activities, and allow the bliss of silence to expand, the catalyst for your own awakening.
The only sane place to be is out of your mind.
